Crackling noise from iPhone 17 Pro Max speakers

Crackling noise on iphone 17 pro max

I keep experiencing a crackling noise coming from my speakers, I have entered apples diagnostic settings and done an audio test and the crackling noise didn’t happen during that, all apps and phone is up to date but anytime I listen to media (Apple Music, YouTube, instagram, facebook, etc) I keep hearing a crackling sound. I never turn the volume above half way because the speakers on this phone are pretty good speakers and I don’t need it any louder but looking for some support on this, future update to fix this issue? Do I need to schedule an Apple appt to get this looked at?

If your iPhone 17 Pro Max speakers crackle only in media apps but pass Apple Diagnostics, it’s almost certainly a software/audio-processing issue in iOS 26.x — especially with Spatial Audio, Dolby Atmos, or EQ processing. Turning off Spatial Audio, resetting audio settings, or disabling certain sound features often fixes it. If the crackling occurs during phone calls or system sounds, visit Apple for a hardware check.

Troubleshooting Crackling iPhone:

A. Two Sites to Go By:

B. Await the Updates:

Awaiting the next update is a great idea. So, give it a go, and then see if all is fixed. If not, then I'd pursue getting this serviced.

C. Restore From a Time Machine Backup:

Did you ever create a backup of your Mac prior to this issues installed? If so, restore this iPhone from it. If not, then take this as a learning experience, knowing to always to create a backup, both prior to and after making any major changes to it (i.e. update installs), whatsoever.
