How to fix grayed-out songs when syncing iPhone with computer?

I have songs that are grayed-out when my phone is synced to my computer.  I have had this same exact problem before but don’t know/remember what I had done before to fix it.

I am including screenshots.

I have already asked Apple support about this (multiple times) but they have given me nothing but the run-around.

That does not make any sense!  What files are “missing”?  How can there be any “iCloud sync conflicts” when there are so many (other) songs that are not grayed-out & only certain songs are?  Hoe can the be “unsupported file formats” when every single song was bought from Apple/iTunes?  What does “old computer linkage” have to do with syncing an iPhone (13) & a computer bought in 2024?  I have older songs that are not grayed-out but newer songs are which I think debunks that. There is not an “a macOS Finder sync bug” when I have a Dell computer that runs Windows,

Additionally, I don’t know what you even mean by “Fixing them depends on which type of gray-out you're seeing.” & I had already included screenshots….yet you (still) have not done anything to “pinpoint the right fix instantly” even though I had already given/told you everything I had known to.

Sadly, the person who responded to you appears to be simply posting answers copied from an AI. They are unlikely to answer your questions.

Wrong!  If I am not subscribed to Apple Music I can not do what I would need an Apple Music subscription to do.  I don’t have Apple Music so I done have the settings.  It says right in that link “Use Sync Library with your Apple Music subscription” & “To use Sync Library, you need a subscription to Apple Music” so “How to turn on Sync Library on your PC” does not do me any good.

Furthermore, “If you don’t want a subscription to Apple Music or iTunes Match, learn how to manually sync music.” is completely useless to me when all the musos IS AREADY synced & ON the phone but is grayed-out in iTunes when the phone is synced to my computer with a USB/lighting cable.  So the music is ALREADY on BOTH the computer AND phone but is STILL grayed-out as you can CLEARLY SEE in the screenshots!

Therefore, that link does NOT help me AT ALL as I had ALREADY gone through it!

Using AI on these types of platforms is just wrong.

Using it badly is definitely wrong, in my opinion.

However, this does not help me....the songs are not "missing", I had clearly stated they are grayed-out.

Did you look at the link? There is information on greyed-out tracks toward the end. And, "missing" is sometimes a reason for things being greyed out.

Songs are grayed out during iPhone sync for only six reasons: missing files, iCloud sync conflicts, unsupported file formats, old computer linkage, or a macOS Finder sync bug. Fixing them depends on which type of gray-out you're seeing. Once you describe the behavior or share screenshots, I can pinpoint the right fix instantly.

You need to reevaluate your tools for providing assistance and following up a previous post from an OP's question is an important one to remember. Another is testing your answers so they make sense. I don't expect you will follow up to my post either as the only thing that has been provided in all of your previous posts is the simple AI response and move along approach to gain points and Top Ranking replies which leans more to gaming the system instead of actually providing support that this site is known for. You can do better!

Yes, I did & it does not help at all.

Furthermore, it (all) talks about (having to be subscribed to) Apple Music which I do NOT have. I only/simply buy songs on iTunes (on my computer) & sync them to my phone because I do some edits that I can't do on the phone - or are at least much easier to do on the computer (because of the larger screen & keyboard)....therefore, that is all completely useless to me.

NO!, it says “IF” you are subscribed to Apple Music. The rest of the tech support article describes your situation and how to troubleshoot it.
