Why are my monthly fitness challenges not showing up?

I updated both iPhone and Apple Watch to latest software and since my November challenge and now December challenge haven’t shown up.

I’ve done it all - restarted, re-paired, etc. and nothing works!

Special Challenges is still enabled in the settings for Activity?

I have to open the Fitness App on the iPhone and wait a couple of seconds to get the monthly challenge on December 1st.
