My PC isn’t recognizing my iPod.

When I try to connect my iPod Touch 5th gen to my PC, it doesn’t get recognized at all. It works fine on my Mac, but now my PC can’t read any Apple devices anymore. I tried reinstalling the drivers with 3uTools, but it still isn’t working, and my phone isn’t being detected either.

Using an iPod Nano 6th Gen (touch screen) in 2023 I bought an iPod Nano 6th Gen for work since it was one of very few mp3 players I could find without wifi capability and with a screen to view what I was listening to. Secondhand, obviously. It worked fine up until April of this year, and it still works perfectly fine, but I cannot get it to connect to my computer. I've tried three different cables, and every time I get a message from my Pc that the drive has a problem, and from iTunes that while an iPod was recognized, it could not be identified properly. The help document linked in this popup is unhelpful. Has support completely ended for this product, or is it simply a matter of trying cables until I find one that works properly?

iPod Touch 4th Gen Not Connecting to Windows Laptop I'm having a really strange issue. I have an iPod Touch 4th Gen (iOS 6.1.6) and it has been connecting perfectly with the iTunes on my Windows 11 laptop until just a few days ago. Now, when I plug in my iPod into the laptop USB port, it says 'Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)' and doesn't recognize the device. I thought it was an issue with my charger, so I bought a new one and I get the same message. Now, even when I plug just my USB into my laptop (no iPod connected), this error message occurs. I've tried connecting to another Windows laptop and get the same exact message. I believe this is an issue with my iPod, but I am devastated because it had been functioning perfectly with my Windows laptop until just recently. I've tried uninstalling my drivers, my device, restarting both, but absolutely nothing works. Please help or offer any advice!

To fix Windows not recognizing your iPod or iPhone:

Restart Apple Mobile Device Service
Fully reinstall iTunes + drivers
Manually install the Apple USB driver
Remove Microsoft Store version of iTunes
Reset USB controllers

This resolves the issue for almost everyone.
