Is the 'photo storage low' Calendar event on iPhone a scam?

There have been several appointments with a link, supposedly from Google, created on my Apple Calendar saying that my photo storage is low and all my photos and videos will be deleted. I have ignored this - my photos are fine and I have enough storage. Is this a scam? I have an Apple iPhone SE.

Yes it is a scam. They appear in your Calendar app because of the email address you are syncing to the Calendar. The calendar spam appears from that email server and synced to the Calendar. Once you quit syncing that email at Settings > Calendar > Accounts, then will be removed. It is possible to find the offending email and remove it from the server but sometimes that is difficult to do.
