new air mac user. Thr screen will not except my password after setting up my account. I know the password is good because I can get into my account on the web.It keeps making me wait...up to 3 hrs to try again

The password used to login to your computer is not the same password used for your Apple Account, which you can log in to on the web.
The Mac login password is the one you used when you created the user account on the Mac when you first set it up.
