iPad contacts changing iPhone contacts

is it possible for a contact name listed on ipad change the contact name in my iphone - example, I have a number listed as Minnie Mouse in my iPad but same number listed as Scooby Doo in my iPhone, which would take charge, would iPad's name update in the iPhone or vice versa?

Phone-Type Designations Next to Phone Numbers in Contacts All Changed to "Phone" I had a designation next to every phone number in my contacts as to what type of phone number it is (mobile, home, work, etc.). A couple weeks ago, I noticed that all of these designations have been changed to just "Phone". Contact names missing after iPhone update Since last update lost many contact names. The text history is there but the name is replaced by their phone number and you have to create a new contact. Is there a fix? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Did you enter new names on both devices (different name, same number)? If so, they will be considered different contacts.

On the other hand, if this is a contact that already exists and you edit it on one device, it will be changed on every device using the same Apple Account. Whatever has been changed most recently will show up.
