Thanks! that's something to keep in mind. though, I'm wondering what may be causing the rapid draining of battery.. Before I slept, I charged it until 80% but I woke up to it 6 hours later to 10%

Widgets will show up as Battery usage on the Lock Screen. You may want to review the number of widgets you have or pay particular attention to any that require frequent updates and operate in the background. If you have identified a third party widget that you have installed causing the battery drain, let us know what that is.

I’ve been experiencing this a lot. It was at 100 one night and in the morning it was 65.

It may be best to make a new post where you can provide:

  • Device details
  • Battery Health
  • Screen shot of green battery graph and apps consuming the battery.
  • The phone continues to maintain a cellular connection overnight and a one bar signal requires maximum power to connect to that tower.
  • As seen in the post here, it is recommended to charge your phone all night, every night. Background processes are performed when there is limited user activity and you don't want to waste your battery overnight.

Each case is unique and it gets difficult to provide the assistance to the OP when their post starts going in many different directions.

Phones which are powered on but not being used are still working behind the scenes. What Bob Timons recommended is absolutely correct. Your phone should be plugged in to charge when you go to bed at night and stay plugged in ALL night, EVERY night. Your phone did lose a lot of charge while it was idle, so you had some processes working overtime while you slept. Force Restart your iPhone to close whatever was working overtime --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

  • Has your Home & Lock Screen usage calmed down? Maybe update with another screenshot of your battery usage and include the green battery graph so we can see the rate of drop along with the apps that are the top consumers.
  • Is the Weather widget you used the Apple provided widget, or a third party app with a widget?
  • Your Battery Health shows normal, but what is the percentage when you tap on it?
  • Don't forget that an 80% charge limit means you are starting with a battery that is already 20% depleted, but having to charge 3 times a day is excessive.
  • Do you have a strong cell signal? I can't tell from your screenshot if it is searching for a signal. Is there a difference when using Airplane mode for only Wifi while you are at home?

The mystery here is WHY aren't you plugging your phone in to charge when you go to bed at night and leave it plugged in ALL night EVERY night. You are aging your battery faster by not doing this. Is that what you are hoping to accomplish? Read the advice in the posts in this thread.
