In my albums I have 2 sub folders - one album is called XXX and another album YYY - each containg about 5 folders in each. When I view the on my Mac - I can see each album with the folders pertaining to each album, but when I go onto Apple TV on my TV and look at Photos - all there is no album XXX and YYY - just all the folders in a row under each other.
How can I get to see on Apple TV what I see on my mac?

I think the answer is that you don't see it on the TV the way it is on the Mac-- you see it the way it is on an iPhone. The iPhone doesn't have a sidebar. So on a phone or TV, you pick a folder, then you pick an album. You use the < button to back out of an album to the enclosing folder.
I'd like to help, Petra, but currently I cannot use my Apple TV. There is no Wi-Fi at my home because of a broken glass fibre cable. It may take a while until it is fixed. But if I remember correctly, it is not possible to view the albums on the Apple TV in the same way as on our Macs.
As a work-around I am copying the albums I want to view on my Apple TV to a shared Album, where I can find them more easily.

Just so we're all on the same page in macOS Photos Albums can only hold photos, not folders. or other albums. Folders can hold only albums and sub-folders.

I have provided a screen shot of what I see on my Mac Photos - I have blacked out album names. As you can see I have 2 main heading in My Albums - then drop down different albums relating to main heading. This is what I can see om my photos in my mac.
When I go onto Apple TV I see all the albums in a row with no main heading - like in this case - Photo Slides Scanned and second one Projects.
How can I arrange these albums so I can see same as mac and Apple TV?

I have albums inside of folders inside of folders, and I can see all of that on my Apple TV. Like an iPad or iPhone, it doesn't show Smart Albums. And there's no sidebar like with an iPad. But it seems to have most of the other stuff-- Library, Memories, Shared Albums. No Trips or Featured that I can find, but there are some Media Types.
So, it's more like an iPhone than a Mac-- what you'd expect, I guess. I think the slideshow is better than the others.
