Screenshots no longer appearing in Photos app after iOS 26.1 update on iPhone

updated to ios.26.1 my screen shots are no longer saved in my photos app. Like they always did. where do they go

Unable to save edited version of screenshot in photos I am only able to see the edited version of screenshots I take if I take the same screenshot and edit it a second time. I played around with the settings in photos for a bit and realized that it was because I had selected ‘optimize iPad storage’ instead of ‘download and keep original’. I noticed many others were having this issue too. Try this, because it worked for me.

Where to find screenshots

Open Photos, then go to Collections > Media Types > Screenshots.
