apple music family plan upgrade not available

I have a yearly individual subscription to Apple Music. I am trying to upgrade to a family plan which appears to only be available as a monthly plan. When I click on the button to change plans I get a "plan not available" pop up message. Do I need to downgrade to a monthly individual subscription before changing? Wait for my yearly plan to be up for renewal? Something else? Thanks.

Upgrade Amazon Music Unlimited to Amazon Family Plan I want to upgrade my Amazon Music Unlimited plan to the Amazon Music Family Plan. How can I switch from individual to family Apple Music plan? I am switching from an individual plan to a family plan. I have stopped my old payment for my individual plan and I’m getting notice saying my Apple Music will stop. However, I’m wondering can I keep my songs or will it just stop and I have to start over? Family plans are by the month only.
