Disabling iOS LiquidGlass Before Upgrading to iOS26:
You Can't. LiquidGlass is a builtin feature of iOS26 --it cannot be rid of. As time has proceeded, Apple learned from their customers' concern from the feedback they received, and, as a result, made the button less transparent. So, see what is recommended by fellow users at these two threads, when it comes to troubleshooting iOS26 LiquidGlass builtin feature:
If and when you come across this...
Report your Thoughts to Apple:
Do your Part: These are user-to-user forums. Apple rarely reads these forums on their own time as it is. So, provide Apple with feedback on this. Apple wont get back to you directly, but the more they hear of this, the more they will know what their customers prefer, and what needs to be fixed. Apple will know nothing of your ideas, if you don't report them to this.

With each update, my phone becomes more and more unusable for my purposes, and I very much feel I’m using it for Apple’s purposes. This is out of hand. I can’t seem to control my device anymore, and I want it back, or I’ll need to drop all of my Apple products—and I pretty much have one of each—in order to do my job!

Disabling iOS26 LiquidGlass Feature:
You Can't. So, as provided in my previous reply, visit the links I provided, and report your firsthand experience to Apple.
I’d been with Apple since 2006, and today I decided to sell my iPhone 16 Plus, my MacBook Pro, and my Apple Watch. The liquid Glass update is a horror in terms of user experience.
On top of making the interface harder to understand, the keyboard is smaller and everything has become more complicated.
Thank you for everything, Apple goodbye.
I’m switching to Android and Windows. No regrets.
Why do you want to delete it?
Change is difficult to adapt to because it disrupts our comfort zones, introduces uncertainty and fear of the unknown, challenges our sense of identity, and involves letting go of the familiar. However, it's important to recognize that change is an inevitable part of life, and learning to adapt and embrace it is crucial for personal growth and development. With time, patience, and a willingness to explore new possibilities, we can navigate the difficulties of change and find ways to thrive in new circumstances.
Because When Apple shifted from skeuomorphic user interface design to flat design in 2013 with iOS 7, the goal was to modernize the interface and make it simpler, more coherent, and quicker to understand, at a time when the entire industry was moving toward minimalism.
Today, with the new design inspired by the Apple Vision, we see the reintroduction of volumes, depth, and visual effects originally intended for a spatial interface. This approach is not fully suited to mobile: it can make interactions less direct and less rapid than with classic flat design.
The Vision Pro’s UI/UX was created for an immersive environment and is not meant to be transplanted as-is into traditional mobile interfaces. This paradigm works in its original context, but is not optimal elsewhere.

This is a user-to-user forum. No one here cares what devices you use. I say use whatever best meets your needs. And Apple doesn't read here for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts here:
