How to remove white borders around icons on iPhone 15 after update?

Following the brand new update to my iPhone 15 , the new icon layout puts a white border round my icons. I had spent ages making icons without borders that floated on my plain background . It says the new update is fully changeable but HOW do I get rid of these new bordered icons

Please follow this path,

iPhone > Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Increase Contrast > disable, if it is disabled, momentarily enable and then disable and restart iPhone.

This is the best method though it doesn’t eliminate the borders entirely. It eliminates all of the border that isn’t actively shimmering.

Settings, Accessibility, Display And Text Size, toggle off “Show Borders.” Be sure “Reduced Transparency” is toggled OFF, and that in your Motion settings “Reduced Motion” is also toggled OFF. I also have “Increased Contrast” toggled ON

These settings also eliminate the solid white borders around Folders and Apps

Try Reducing the Transiency:

This will make the Graphical User Interface (GUI) elements more opaque, improving readability.

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Accessibility
  3. Select: Display & Text Size
  4. Toggle On: Reduce Transparency

Are you referring to this look?

If you are, you can't change the look. This is part of the Liquid Glass look, which is hard coded into iOS 26. All you can do is turn off Reduce Transparency an Increase Contrast and if you don't like the animations in iOS 26, turn ON Reduce Motion. All settings are in Settings > Accessibility

it absolutely is bad, a simple reddit search will tell you it’s very unpopular among many people. Ruined the aesthetic of mine and many others’s home screens.

The vast majority of people who are roaming the planet with iPhones on iOS 26 aren't camping out on forums like Reddit complaining about the new Liquid Glass. Visiting forums is like visiting a hospital and believing erroneously that because there are sick people there, everyone is sick. So perusing forums doesn't mean everyone is unhappy with Liquid Glass. I'm certainly not unhappy. No one I know personally with Liquid Glass is unhappy. But Liquid Glass is here to stay and saying it is bad here, won't get the attention of anyone at Apple. They don't participate here, nor read these posts for feedback.

I wrote this to help people who may not be aware of the ways you can adjust Liquid Glass to better meet your needs. Read this all the way through and try the setting options and you may find you can be much happier --> Liquid Glass - Love It Or Hate It - It's … - Apple Community

Among everything else, this weather widget used to be completely black/transparent, no white line border around it or white tinted look to it. All app icons and other widgets too. Nothing suggested removes the white lines/white tinted look. Tried all suggestions here and others including Reduce Transparency and Contrast settings, Home Screen Customize > Dark, etc.
