I just purchased a new ipad air 11” (M3) and the current black magic keyboard. The keyboard is not backlit, like my previous ipad air and keyboard (purchased in 2021). Is this intended or do I have a set up or hardware problem. I spoke with an agent yesterday who went back and forth on whether the key should or should not be back lit. I’m also finding contradictory info on line.

Yes — the new Magic Keyboard for iPad Air (M3) is supposed to have backlit keys. If yours never lights up and the “Keyboard Brightness” slider does not appear in Settings, either the wrong keyboard model was purchased or the unit is defective.
