How to upload .ics files to iPhone Calendar

are .ics files still compatible with iphone? what steps do I need to do to upload .ics files to my calendar?

There are 2 ways:

Send yourself an email containing the .ics file. In the email, tap the file.
Move the file to the Files app, long-press it and choose to add it to Calendar.

.ics file can’t import to Calendar When downloading and opening an .ics file, it shows the event information. However, there is no option to add or import to my calendar. This is on the iPhone 15 and updated iOS as of 1/1/2025. The only workaround I have found is adding it to my Gmail or Outlook calendars. Since I have those setup to also appear in the Calendar app, it shows up as events from those calendars. Seeing the repeated unresolved issues related to this with Apple, I’d say it’s a deficiency in programming with iOS or the Calendar app. Google and Microsoft seem to have this figured out. I will continue adding the .ics file to those other vendor calendars to show up on my phone, but do suggest Apple update this in a future Calendar app version. Thank you!

How do I sync new iPhone calendar appointments to iMac and iCloud? Entered new appointments on iPhone iOS 18.3.2 and Calendar on IMac 15.3.1 not updated. I quit Calendar on IMac and opened it again with no update there. I then opened the Calendar on iCloud thinking that would be updated, but it is not. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Oulook Calendar refuses to sync with iOs from my iphone. My iCloud calendar refuses to sync with Outlook. Also my setup for ICloud for windows has an unknown error and will not setup completely. I wonder if this last issue is what creates the first. I am trying to get it to accept the calendar from my iPhone. Am using a refurbished Dell 5060 with SSD and 16 Gb and Windows 11 if you must know.
