There isn’t an iPhone feature that fully hides notifications. Instead, iOS offers several controls that let you manage how, when, and where notifications appear.

Notification Management Options

• Scheduled Summary

Choose Off or set a custom schedule to receive non‑urgent notifications at specific times.

• Show Previews

Control how much information appears on the Lock Screen:

  • Always
  • When Locked
  • Never

• Screen Sharing

Decide whether notifications appear while sharing your screen:

  • Allow Notifications (Enable/Disable)

Siri Notification Options

• Announce Notifications

Turn on/off globally.

• Announce When Connected To:

  • Headphones
  • CarPlay
    • Announce Messages
    • New Messages
    • Silence New Messages
    • Remember Previous Settings

App‑Specific Controls

Each app can individually enable or disable:

  • Announce Notifications

Time‑Sensitive Notifications

Many apps—such as Calendar, FaceTime, Google Maps, Health, and Apple Maps—support Time‑Sensitive Notifications (Enable/Disable).

  • These notifications are delivered immediately.
  • They stay on the Lock Screen for up to one hour, even if other notifications are silenced.

Focus Modes

Focus settings significantly influence how notifications behave. Depending on the Focus mode, notifications may be:

  • Silenced
  • Allowed for specific apps or people
  • Delivered immediately if marked time‑sensitive

Sorry LD150. I didn’t articulate the situation correctly. I have notifications turned off on a group text. But for some reason, Siri keeps announcing when a text comes in this group when I’m using my AirPod pros. 🤷‍♂️. If I knew how to edit the post, I would. Because of my error, I would appreciate it if you could delete the post entirely. That way I could post my question correctly.

I can't delete posts, however Notifications and Announcements are not the same thing.

How do I stop Siri from announcing notifications when hide notifications is selected?
