Unable to update Apple ID payment method

My payment card expired and now I am trying to update to the new card. But when I go into my Apple account and I go to my payment methods and update payment, EVERYTHING is grayed out. I am unable to change anything. I have tried getting on with my phone and on my computer. I see people giving links to the Apple ID manage payments and that is where I go. I think I might have a balance or something because my Peacock sub ended 7 days ago but I still have full access to Peacock. I WAS able to add my new card to my wallet and my watch, it just won't link up to my Apple ID, it has my old card, says the security code is invalid and expired but will not let me click on anything to change, update or add anything. But my issue is not with the appleid.apple.com link, I have tried that many times and get nothing!

Check these possibilities:

● If an app or feature on your device is not working, not appearing, or is restricted (grayed out), a frequent reason is it may have been disabled using Screen Time, or by a technology administrator if you are using a device owned by an employer or educational institution.

- Read this support article If your Apple ID or other options are greyed out in Settings —> If your Apple Account is grayed out in Settings, or you can't sign out - Apple Support


Tap your Settings app > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > scroll to Accounts > tap Allow Changes and turn on.

If the issue persists, also try going to Settings > Screen Time and turning off Share Across Devices


- If the device is managed (check: Settings > General > VPN (or Profiles & Device Management), contact the technology department of the organization that is doing the managing.

To test for this, remove the VPN entirely, don’t just turn it off.

Select from the presented options until you find a solution for your issue, or see if there is a chat or phone call contact method offered lower on the page under “Get more help” (you sometimes have to narrow down the options multiple times before this is shown). If you do not see your issue, keep experimenting with any series of selections until you reach one that offers a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.
