iOS 26 Haptics settings malfunction on iPhone 15 Pro

iOS 26 seems to have introduced a few bugs to my iPhone 15 Pro. One of the bugs that persists is the loss of control over haptics settings (Settings>Sounds & Haptics>Haptics). I can set it to Never Play and it changes nothing (haptics are still on). I have already tried all of the obvious possible solutions and spent too much of my time corresponding with support associates regarding the issue and found no resolution. Also, the iOS 26.1 update changed nothing. Any ideas or similar experiences?

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch, then turn off Vibration.

It was apparent you did not want any haptics, if you do then try a forced restart https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/force-restart-iphone-iph8903c3ee6/ios

When I select “Never Play” and then navigate away from the Haptics settings, or close Settings out, and then revisit the Haptics settings, “Always Play” is selected. 🤔

Yes, I have tried a forced restart. That was one of the first actions taken.
