Child's iPhone is unexpectedly in Downtime after an update. Parental Controls

Child's phone is in downtime when not scheduled. Everything is disabled as if it’s in downtime. Nothing was changed on my part. It just started doing this yesterday when I updated my phone. I’ve checked my settings and everything looks good on my end. So does everything in my son’s phone. Time zone has not been changed. I’m having to approve everything he wants to use by the 15 minute, hour or the all day option. Help.
