Is iOS 26.2 version update working?
Has anyone updated their iPhone to iOS 26.2 yet? Is this version update finally working, or is the firmware still full of bugs and lags?

Notes (which is Apple's own app) doesn't always leave the cursor in the right place at the end of a word when I am typing so letters I type later get added into the middle of the word instead of the end of the word. (for example "house" could end up as "hoseu" because the cursor jumped back behind the u.
Coros for my sports watch has an excellent app on all the previous iOS versions, but it keeps freezing in 26.2
Calculator HD doesn't open in 26.2.

Waiting is not a very good strategy. I would suggest creating a new post with the issues along with your Battery Health and include a screenshot of the green battery graph and the top apps consuming your battery at Settings > Battery.

iOS26.2 Version Bugs:
Nothing for me. Though, many might be stuck in a Boot Loop, which commonly occurs where you go about installing an update, and it stall while in the process: How to Fix an iPhone in a Boot Loop - Apple Community
The update has been troublesome for sure. It changed many settings. When I intentionally close apps, they only fade away slowly and remain running in the background. The phone is stuck on slow fade with all apps and actions. I tried toggling on and off reduce motion settings, and many other suggested solutions I found on YouTube. The new update is full of buggy annoyance's.

The iOS 26.1 update is TERRIBLE!
My personal experience when updating to this version to my less than 2 year old SE 3rd Edition has been one
of total frustration and wasted time ever since an Apple tech, suggested after discussing a non-related issue, I should upgrade to iOS 26.1.
In the 3-4 weeks since the update, these are the issues I still have, even
after updating to iOS 26.2 about 4 days ago:
--BATTERY Drain: my battery now last
about half as long as it did prior to the update.
--INSTABILITY OF GENERAL NAVIGATION:
especially relating to text messages received. EVERY morning I am unable to
navigate between Known and Unknown messages. I try to go to view and delete
Unknown messages and the screen reverts to Known messages. This last several
hours a day with gradual improvements later in the day.
--CELLPHONE CONNECTIVITY; is now terrible.
The amount of dropped calls or inability to send SMS texts have quadrupled.
This problem includes the inability to even call Apple support. As soon as I
dial a number, the phone will show Failed Call and ask if I want to attempt
again. After 3-4 retrys I usually can connect.
--LOST DATA: After the update I immediately
noticed that many of my Contacts had missing data from my data entries made 6
mos. earlier and later. This happened not on all contacts, but many of them. In
order to get the data back I had to do a RESTORE.
--FREEZING OF THE SCREEN DURING INPUT:
often, more than 50% of the time the screen will freeze while I am typing data
into a text or an online form.
IT JUST APPEAR THAT THE GPU CAN NOT HANDLE
THE COMPLEXITY OF THIS iOS UPDATE!!
PLEASE LET US GO BACK TO THE PRIOR iOS
UPDATE WHERE MY PHONE WORKED JUST GREAT!!!
That’s not true.
It isn’t an option regards to downgrading iOS 26 > 18x anymore, yes. But you can downgrade from any update during the first 2-3 weeks of a release update while Apple still signs the previous version and you haven’t backed up your phone while on the new version. I, myself, have downgraded from iOS 26 back to iOS 18.6.2 without losing any data. ✌️
You can still downgrade if you have backed up your phone while on the new version, but you have to delete that backup before you can use your account again during the downgrade process. The data loss doesn’t apply to your messages, pictures, etc. though, only the application backups.
26.2 update destroyed my iphone 15. Return key doesn't work. phone doesn't shut down. Volume stuck at very low level and volume controls don't n't work. Sound limit isn't on so it's not that. Not connected to bluetooth.
Support chat ran diagnostics then disconnected after telling me everything checked out fine. WTH with this update?
Was your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.
I have been updating my devices ever since I bought my first device in 2009. iPhone 3Gs, 4S, 5, 6, SE (1st Gen), 7, 8 and iPhone 12 Pro, iPad Pro, iPhone 13, Macbook Air 2019, MacBook Pro 16"
I never had any issues with any iOS, iPadOS, or macOS updates to date.
I would personally recommend everyone update their devices instead of listening to rumors from people who may not have kept their devices free from any spurious software.
iOS / iPadOS devices cannot be hacked or infected with Virus / Malware / Spyware if it is updated to the latest iOS/iPadOS unless you have intentionally downloaded spurious software or unauthorized apps directly from the internet and installed them on your device or/and have Jailbroken.

iOS updates generally aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. Issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.
This seems purely coincidental, so please check the settings on your device.

I’ll try this again. Ever since I loaded the 26 iOS everything doesn’t load right. Web pages stop midway, reels stop during playback and other app videos stop or won’t play at all. I sometimes can exit and come back and it works. Even this page took multiple reloads. Suggestions?
Good to hear. I had to restore my iPhone 12 mini to iOS 18.6.2 after updating to iOS 26, because it was so full of bugs and lags. Sadly, I couldn’t do the same thing with my Apple TV 4K 2nd gen..
So, now I am being very cautious, because restoring to iOS 18 isn’t even an option anymore.

Provide Apple with Feedback:
Being that you lie how it is, I recommend you provide Apple with feedback on this. The more they hear of what works for their customers, the more they’ll know what needs to be fixed, and what suits their customers’ needs.
To Provide Feedback:
No, I don’t ”jailbreak” or ”tweak” my daily used Apple devices or use any ”sketchy” software/apps that could infect them with virus, since I store highly security-sensitive information on them such as my ID-card, bank accounts, etc. And since all the issues instantly disappear as soon as I restore my iPhone to iOS 18x, one can be assured that the firmware itself is the problem.
Buddy, there is no "might" - I'm saying that I have done it. And I have done it via iTunes, if I may also add. This wasn't a long time ago. When did they release the iOS 26 in Sweden/EU, wasn't it like 2 months ago or something? It was very recently anyway.
And that is also not true - right before I made this post, I specifically checked for all the signed versions of iOS, and both 26.1 and 26.2 were signed back then. Now, they aren't, of course.
It's just that when it comes to those "point release updates" in between the "major updates", the period of time you have the option to downgrade is much shorter. In such cases, they only sign both versions for like a week or something (maybe even shorter). So, it's kind of a "you snooze, you lose" situation. 😅
Again, not true. Backups have significant importance during downgrade processes for Apple devices. Just try to restore your data with a backup from a newer version after you downgrade your iPhone, and you'll see what happens then. 😄
Why this causes issues is that when you upgrade your OS version, the applications and lots of system related things you have on your phone is adjusted and upgraded to work with your new OS version as well. You may have realized that, right after an update, you usually have a lot of applications on queue waiting to be updated. If you bring a backup from a newer version to restore your data after a downgrade, there is going to be all kinds of mismatches, and it will cause issues.
But this is only important for people who really want to restore their most recent data after a downgrade, it is not something that makes the downgrading impossible. You just won't have your application data (sign ins, adjustments, progresses, etc.) with you, and you will need to set up your iPhone without restoring a backup. You will need to download all your apps and then sign into them anew, and do everything from the beginning again, just like the first time. Naturally, many people find that process very cumbersome and want to be able to restore their data... That's why it's important. 😄
