I totally recognise your issue Wright54. I had a similar experience. first 26.2 needed some 8 Gb 'Extra' than the previous iOS, which made me having to remove quite a lot of video and photo stuf.

But then after the update I lost some calendar items. Not all, not able to find a reason why one was there and the other not. AND... weirdly, the items I lost were still visible in the calendar on my wife's phone.

I then checked the calendar items in my iCloud environment, and all were still present there as well. Hence... it had to do with the link with my specific phone.

My solution was:

  • Go to Settings
  • Tap on name with iCloud settings and more
  • tap on iCloud (on my phone 5 from top)
  • tap on 'show all'. in the 'saved in iCloud' square
  • find your iCloud calendar and tap on it
  • Probably the option is 'on' with 'use on this iPhone'
  • use the toggle to switch it off.
  • Wait a little... and check your calendar.. that will be ALL empty now.
  • go back to the settings and use the toggle to switch is on again

Now be patient! slowly but surely you will see coloured dots appearing again in your calendar. All will be synchronised, and also your lost items probably will reappear.

Hope this helps!

I suppose you clicked on Calendars at the bottom of the screen and you confirmed all calendars are checked.

You say no iCloud, but maybe you were actually saving your events in iCloud before, without knowing it, and now you are just missing the connection. In the phone settings, find iCloud and set Calendar to use it, just to see if this wouldn't save you.
