The Apple 2025 MBAir supports Dolby Atmos. The Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter supports HDMI output (video + audio). If your source video & the player app you are using support Dolby Atmos it will be output as part of the HDMI signal.

Note there are 2 versions of this adapter; the older version A1621 does not support multichannel audio but the current model (A2119) does. For more information about the differences between the two models, see About the Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter - Apple Support

The Samsung TV you linked also supports Dolby Atmos, so it would seem to work. Via HDMI. The audio signal would be carried by the HDMI interface, not the TV's USB input.

Good luck with all this. I'll just add that achieving multichannel audio via streaming video can be quite challenging.

Those links are for the Apple TV box, and do not describe using your MacBook Air in this setup.

ARC connections have less bandwidth than eARC connections (~1 Mbps vs. ~37 Mbps). The latter is needed for support of Dolby Atmos in Dolby MAT format.

About HDMI Passthrough - Apple Support

Audio ‘Passthrough’ on Mac is supported for Dolby Digital (AC-3), Dolby Digital Plus (EAC-3), and Dolby Atmos (EAC-3 JOC) bitstreams. Be aware that this excludes Dolby Atmos in Dolby TrueHD format (like Blu-ray).

‘Passthrough’ is available in Apple Music, QuickTime Player, and the Apple TV app on Mac with Apple silicon and a built-in HDMI port or a supported USB-C to HDMI adapter (Thunderbolt 3–5 to HDMI adapter).
