iPhone Restarts By Itself.

iPhone 16 Pro Max running iOS 26.2 randomly restarting by itself. I caught my iPhone restarting itself after placing it on the charger 5 minutes later. This is the second time today I have seen this happening without anyone or anything interacting with the phone. This started after updating to iOS 26.2.

Please stop sending me these generic standard copy paste solutions. I have already read and performed this stuff. It’s the first thing I do when I have issues. These procedures are easily found on Apples website and YT channel. I wouldn’t post the question if these steps worked. I need a real
answer to this issue. Even after trying these steps the phone continues to restart by itself. Anyone else have some useful insight into this?

Hello~ Make an appointment with Apple and have your iPhone checked out as they get paid to deal with rudeness as we volunteers here do not. Click on the links below…

  1. Follow the Apple article to resolve the issue --> If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen ...
  2. If not resolved; please follow the steps in the following link for support with this issue: If your iOS device restarts or displays the Apple logo or a spinning gear unexpectedly
  3. You still see a black screen after charging, force restarting, following the steps in this article.
    1. You see a black screen, but you can hear alerts, sounds, and vibrations.
    2. The screen remains black, but the device chirps when you unmute it and connect it to power.
    3. Your screen is on, but it doesn't respond when you tap, slide, or try other gestures.
    4. You can't force your device to restart because a button is broken or stuck.
    5. Your device is stuck on the Apple logo, displays a solid color, or isn't recognized in iTunes.
    6. Contact Apple Support to set up service if you have any of the above issues:
  4. Please follow the steps in the following Apple Video for support with this issue:

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it is recommended to reach out to Apple Support or visit an authorized service center for further assistance. They can provide specific guidance based on your device model and iOS version.

How are forum volunteers supposed to know what you already tried if you didn't tell us.

How about the "thank you for that advice but..." approach to responses, you will get more help.

You won't get much useful help by being ungrateful

"The only common factor in these random restarts is it only happens when the phone is plugged to power or on a wireless charger. It doesn’t happen when running on the phone’s battery."
