Disable connecting of devices after MacBook lid closed

There is often a problem that when I want to play music on my phone, but the device was previously connected to my macbook before turnning off.

Before putting my ITFIT bluetooth earphones back to the case, it was connected to my macbook. The earphones are paired with both my phone and my macbook. However, maybe since they were previously connected to my macbook, they seem to be actively seeking a connection with my macbook. Then they get connected.

The same thing also happens when my earphones are previously connected to my phone.

The problem is, if my earphones are previously connected to my phone, I can just turn it off from the lock screen. However, for my macbook, sometimes it is covered by other things, making it hard to take out my macbook when I don't want to. And I always have to enter my password to unlock my macbook, (and wait for that liquid **** to load) then I can finally turn off the bluetooth on my macbook.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I can't disconnect the single earphone from the bluetooth quick panel, I have to either turn off the bluetooth from the quick settings panel or go into the settings app, (wait for that liquid **** to load) then I can finally (peacefully) disconnect my single earphones from my macbook.

I know that there is a (open source) third-party app (called [bluesnooze](https://github.com/odlp/bluesnooze)) that lets me some kind of turn off bluetooth when I close my macbook lid, but I remember bluetooth is essential for Find My. Is there a way to only disable connecting of bluetooth devices when the macbook lid is close? Thanks.

Have you tried using the quick bluetooth menu with the option key held down? To disconnect the headphones?

I don't have this problem with my Bose headphones nor with a set of Sony headphones. I am not familiar with the model of headphones that you use. I think it is the headphones behavior that is creating the problem for you. (By the way, those ITFIT headphones are really cheap, I wonder about the product quality if they behave this way ...)

One workaround to consider -- why not actually shut off your Mac instead of just closing the lid (closing the lid it stays active in some ways). I find that even my 2019 Intel MacBook Pro 16" boots up in just seconds. With your Mac shut off, your headphones won't even see the Mac to connect to it.

I don't think this is a behavior of the MacOS because I don't see it with two major brands of headphones. Maybe your headphones have a setting that will keep them from doing that.

Only Disabling Bluetooth Connectivity At Lid Close:

You can only pair one audio device at a time; that is the was Bluetooth is designed. So, two thoughts here…

A. Use Screen Time:

You might be able to make this circumstantial using a profile. It’d be something similar to what I created in a User Tip a long time ago: How to Use a Profile to Disable the iSight Camera in macOS 15 Sequoia - Apple Community

B. Using AppleScript:

Creating an app that performs this, and then adding it as a Login Item. See Here: Change Login Items & Extensions Settings on Mac – Apple Support
