Need a compatible printer for my MacBook Air, 2025. Nothing fancy, doesn’t have to print color, just for home use
Whatever you get, make sure that it supports AirPrint. That lets Macs print to a printer even without the installation of separate drivers.
Printer manufacturers have a bad habit of not supplying new, separate drivers after a few years, and that can force you to prematurely retire a good printer if it doesn't have AirPrint.
Pretty much any current printer will work. And almost all of them will support AirPrint at this point.

You can’t beat a basic Brother or Canon laser printer. I absolutely hate inkjet printers because the ink is priced like 30 year old single malt scotch. Worse, if you don’t print frequently the printer has to run a cleaning cycle which wastes ink. A laser will cost a bit more up front but it will last longer and cost less per page.
