Whatever you get, make sure that it supports AirPrint. That lets Macs print to a printer even without the installation of separate drivers.
Printer manufacturers have a bad habit of not supplying new, separate drivers after a few years, and that can force you to prematurely retire a good printer if it doesn't have AirPrint.
Pretty much any current printer will work. And almost all of them will support AirPrint at this point.

You absolutely want a printer with AirPrint.
If you’re going to use any other non-Apple systems with the printer, probably also want IPP/IPPS support.
Local preference is Brother.
