How do I merge two Apple IDs and remove the secondary ID from my iPad?

I have two Apple ids … I only want one. I tried merging but my iPad still asked for password for secondary ID and it will not take it!

Did you sign out of the secondary account on other devices?

If you used the secondary Apple Account for Media & Purchases on any other devices –– including Apple TV, HomePod, or other devices with Apple TV app or Apple Music app –– sign out of the secondary Apple Account. Then sign in with the primary Apple Account that the purchases were migrated to.

Where are you seeing your iPad ask for the secondary Apple Account?

Did you happen to Delete the secondary Apple Account like detailed in this Support Article? This should not have been done as that would make it so you are unable to use the password for a deleted account to remove it from your device.

I try to sign out of the secondary ID but when it asks for my password, it won't take it. So, I reset it and it still won't take it. I did migrate the purchases to my primary ID.
