Migrate old Mac Mini to new Mac Mini

Mac Mini purchased in 2020.

I believe it is nearing the end of its usefulness.

Beta testing, which I no longer use, messed some things up, one being Music, which no longer works, and I lost all my music. Not a big deal right now.

except that they cannot get Music back.

My question....

If I purchase a new Mac Mini and migrate from the old mini to the new mini, will the old version of Music stay and not work, or would the new Mini's music override and then music would work again....

Thanks

IMHO a 2020 model Mac mini is still serviceable and can be used productively. It might be worth the time to do a proper reinstall of the stable release of macOS. The 2020 Mac mini M1 can run the current release of macOS 26 Tahoe.

Not surprising that your music has gone away. It's one of the hazards of being a beta testing guinea pig. If you had backups of your stuff you could get it back.

If you purchase a new Mac mini and migrate from the old, there is no reason to believe the Music app would be a problem. Migration doesn't bring over the standard installed Apple app and Music is one of those. The Music app that is pre-installed on the new Mac mini should work as designed.
