Why doesn't my cordless mouse work when the dongle is in one of the front USB-C ports?

I have an M4 mac mini running Tahoe 26.1.

I have a cordless logicool mouse, with dongle. It works fine on all my other computers.

If I plug the dongle in one of the rear USB-C ports (Thunderbolt), the mouse works fine. However, if I put it in one of the front ports, then it works fine for a few minutes, and then becomes very sticky, and finally completely useless. Why is this happening? Is it normal behaviour? If so, Why? If not, what is wrong?

Hi,

Your Logitech mouse issues on the M4 Mac mini's front USB-C ports are likely due to wireless interference (2.4GHz) from the Mac's internal components or other nearby devices, causing signal drops, a known problem for many users, especially with front ports. The rear Thunderbolt ports work better because they offer cleaner signal paths, but the front ports get overwhelmed; the fix is often using a USB-A to USB-C adapter with a short extension cable to move the dongle further away and reduce interference.
