AirPods Pro 3 Case Issue

Anyone else have this problem? My case is behaving like the lid is open all the time (even though it’s clearly closed).

If I have any devices near it, it does pop up info box - on my phone it just shows the battery info, on other’s devices, it asks if they want to connect.

I’ve unpaired and re-paired. I’ve tried pairing to a different phone, and it’s all the same behavior. Pretty sure it’s hardware related not software.

And of course, with this happening, it’s causing rapid battery drain - without using it, the case dies in pretty much a day.

Just started this past week; been working fine before that since I got them early November.

Any thoughts? Anyone know what part of the case triggers whether it thinks it’s open or not? It is connecting with the magnet at the front of the lid, so it’s not obviously open. I don’t see any debris in the hatch either, but if there’s something I should try to clean on it, I can try that too.
