iPhone 14 Plus won't update; large System Data storage

My iPhone 14 Plus will not update latest software because not enough storage. Systems data is 83 GB which seems excessive for an iPhone with 128 GB of total storage available. I have tried many things to increase storage like removing apps and reinstalling them and clearing history from Safari, etc. Nothing seems to work to reduce excessive storage space used by systems data. Any suggestions??

The only way to reduce system data is to backup, erase, and restore the backup. It is not without its risks, but if you have all your data and photos sync'd to iCloud the risks are always lower.

You might alternatively be able to update via a computer.
