Black dot on the screen

That looks too uniform to be a damaged screen, it looks like one of the several dots that are displayed for the anti-motion sickness feature.

Try a forced restart to see if it clears it.

• Press and quickly release the volume up button

• Press and quickly release the volume down button

• Press and hold the side button.

• When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

Before you panic, try changing your wallpaper. Might be part of the image you're using.
