iPhone 15 Pro Max keeps dropping Wi-Fi connection

iPhone 15pro Max network dropout

Bought a refurbished 15pro max from Apple, replacing my wife’s 12. I use a 13pro on our home network and my wife the 12 without issue but the 15pro max keeps dropping connection, requiring WiFi disconnect and reconnect. This is Dec31 2025 and we are running iOS 26.2. I have reset the 15 and the router, altered the security setting on the router to WAP2. There is no VPN I can see on the device and WiFi 6 is not shown as an option. Any suggestions?

thanks

I had that exact same issue with my new modem/router supplied by my ISP

The fix I found that worked was to run off Private Wi-Fi Address

Go to the phone settings>Wi-Fi>Choose your Wi-Fi connection and tap the ! on the right.

Scroll down and find Private Wi-Fi address and select off

You will get a warning saying that you'll be visible on the web...but at least, in my case, it worked.

Which Wi-Fi router?

Unless the Wi-Fi router is also configured for MAC address verification, the MAC address privacy features should work.

Some Wi-Fi devices are configured for MAC address verification, though that’s both not great security, and that is more work to maintain.

Using RADIUS would be a more common choice, if a well-chosen Wi-Fi pre-shared key is insufficient.

Failing the reset…

Which Wi-Fi router vendor snd model?

(Different and particularly newer client devices can connect to Wi-Fi networks in different ways, and this can expose hardware or firmware or interference issues. That one client works doesn’t necessarily mean that different connections will also all work.)

Does the iPhone show similar issues on other Wi-Fi networks?

Hi Mr Hoffman and thanks for your response. The router is a Sky Max. Supplied by Sky as part oF my broadband package. All other devices (cameras, smart plugs, Windows devices and iPhones - 26 in all) connect fine

if the particular Sky Wi-Fi router supports Wi-Fi 6E, how many of those other clients are using Wi-Fi 6E? Almost certainly none of the IoT gear.

But it looks like Sky mostly isn’t supporting Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 (yet?), so this may be a non-issue.
