Can you lock just the cell FORMAT, not the cell? I have several columns of cells in the Duration format. If I make a mistake entering the Duration, the cell format changes to Automatic (which does not include Duration) or Text, or Number, etc.)

You could use the TRIM() function that removes the spaces before and after a chain of characters.
