How do I import records from one Numbers document to another?

How do I import records from one Numbers document to another? Or from a CSV document. This should be a very basic operation, but I can't find a way to do it. Thanks for the help.

Numbers has no direct import into an existing spreadsheet document.

If you want to import the data you will need to open the document first, then copy the data you want to import, and paste it into your reference document.

Depending on the nature of the data (e.g. consistency between the import data and your sheet, it may be possible to automate via either AppleScript or Shortcuts (Shortcuts has an 'Add Row to Top or Bottom of Table' action that may fit the bill).
