How to insert Page x of y pages in the footer, on OS 26.1, Mac Word 16.66.1

Jan 6, 2016, All the answers to date do not recognize that the page number only has format options, not any "of" options. I suspect that AI was used for not only the HUGE (and awful) upgrade from OS 16 to 26, but also for the latest Word upgrade. To me, it is illogical to eliminate the Page X of Y pages option from Word, so I assume the AI did it, and that enough people have not complained yet. Anyone else having that issue?

Which app?

You're posted in the Numbers forum, but you talk about Word... Word isn't an Apple app, and wouldn't care about what OS version you're on.

I thought maybe Pages, but then since you're in the Numbers forum, rethought my answer based on Numbers.

In the Print Preview section, you can click in the Header bar, then use the Insert-> Menu to insert the Page Number or the Page count:

You can combine them in any order, like:

If, by chance, you're talking about Word, that shouldn't be affected by the MacOS version upgrade. In either case, in Word (or, at least the version I have, it's under the Insert -> AutoText menu:

And if you don't like the default format of 'Page X of Y', you can build a custom AutoText using the first item in the submenu.
