Stickers not saving in Messages

My iPhone 14 is running iOS 16.3. A week or so ago I lost the ability to create new stickers. I can make them in Photos or Messages but they disappear as soon as their thumbnail appears in Messages or the stickers app. Anyone having this problem? Any suggestions?

Hi aztecwarriordna,

Re: "Stickers not saving in Messages ....... Any suggestions?"

Seems stickers are sent in Messages, rather than being saved there.

(Further down you will see the steps of how to create and add stickers to your collection.)

If you haven't seen it yet : Wondering if Apple Support's online article (link below) can help:

For iOS 26: See how to: Send stickers in Messages on iPhone - Apple Support

Eg: says:

"Send a sticker in a message

  1. Go to the Messages app on your iPhone.
  2. In a conversation, tap .
  3. Tap Stickers, then tap the icon for any of the following sticker packs:
    • Live Stickers you or a friend made: Tap .
    • Emoji: Tap .
    • Memoji: Tap , tap a Memoji in the top row to view the stickers in the sticker pack, then choose a pose or expression. See Create Memoji.

    • Stickers from other creators: Download a sticker app from the App Store. See Add iMessage apps.

4..Add a message (optional), then tap

"

You can: "Create Live Stickers and Save other people’s Live Stickers" (from the same linked article above)

You may want to heck out how to add stickers with the keyboard, or create and add them to your collection.

For iOS 26: Add emoji, Memoji, and stickers with the iPhone keyboard - Apple Support

Eg: says:

"Make a sticker with the iPhone keyboard

In supported apps, you can make a new sticker from images in your photo library as you type a message with your iPhone keyboard.

  1. Tap a text field, then tap  or  to switch to the emoji keyboard.
  2. Tap , then tap .
  3. To search your photo library, enter a term in the search field at the top of screen, or tap a category such as People or Animals.
  4. Tap the photo you want to use, then tap Add Sticker.
  5. The sticker is automatically added to your sticker collection."

Seems no-one has put their hand up here so far. You are likely not alone though.

Others have also had to learn new ways of doing things when new features and methods are introduced.
