You'll get your iPhone trade-in money once Apple receives and inspects your device, which usually takes 2-3 weeks total, with the credit appearing on your bank card statement in 3-30 days after processing, depending on your payment method (faster for Apple Cash/Debit, slower for Credit Cards).

The device must arrive within 14 days of receiving your new phone for the full value, with faster processing if you trade in sooner after purchase.

Here's a breakdown of the timeline:

Device Arrival & Inspection: After you mail it, it takes time to reach their processing center and for them to verify its condition (this is the biggest variable).

Credit Processing:

  • Apple Cash: Up to 48 hours for your Apple Account balance.
  • Debit/Credit Card: Up to 30 days for your bank statement (often 3-10 business days).
  • Mobile Phone Billing: Up to 60 days (depends on your carrier).
  • In-Store Trade-In: If you traded in at an Apple Store, the credit appears on your card within a few days (3-5 typical).

To speed things up:

  • Send your trade-in device within the first 14 days of getting your new one.
  • Ensure the phone's condition matches your trade-in estimate.
  • Track your trade-in status through your Apple Store account or the gift card tracking link if applicable.

Refer to the FAQ at the bottom of:

Apple Trade In - Apple

How long does the online trade-in process take? Generally it takes 2 to 3 weeks. Your trade-in device needs to be sent to us within 14 days of when you receive your new device. The sooner we receive your trade-in, the sooner we can verify its condition and process your credit or gift card. It may take 3 to 5 business days for your credit to be processed.

Note that some of the information in the post by pooda3d may be inaccurate. According to the article to which I posted a link, Apple will issue funds to you as a gift card or as credit towards the purchase of another Apple device. Information for Apple Pay refunds, and the card and mobile billing times do not apply in this situation (I recognize some of this information as coming from other articles which have nothing to do with trade-ins). I strongly recommend you read the article to which I referred you earlier about the conditions for your trade-in.
