Thank you Limnos but I’m referring to this Filter
The illustrated Apple adapter is explicitly designed to permit connection and use of legacy Lightning accessory devices to a USB-C equipped iPad or iPhone. This Adapter is unsuitable for charging your iPad; it fundamentally not intended to facilitate charging any device using a Lightning cable.
If you need to charge your 2025 iPad Air (that has a USB-C connection) from a USB Type-A power source or computer, you will need a USB-C to USB Type-A cable - which, incidentally, will likely be cheaper to purchase than the Adapter that you illustrate.
Be aware that attempting to charge your iPad from a USB Type-A power source will significantly impact charging. When charging from a USB Type-A power source, charging will be limited to ~12W (i.e., 2.4A @5V). By contrast, when charging from a USB-C power source that supports USB PD (Power Delivery), your iPad supports fast-charging at its maximum supported charging rate of ~32W.

I would add to lkrupp's excellent advice that those adapters can be very flaky, even the Apple ones. Just buy the cable and wall plug.
Are you referring to this? About the Apple USB-C to Lightning Cable - Apple Support --> USB-C to Lightning Cable (1 m) - Apple
Which power supply are you using? It won't hurt anything but if you use a charger that was designed for an earlier device your new device may not charge as quickly. You'd have to check the watt supply of the charger and the device (Identify your iPad model - Apple Support).
USB-C charging cables are inexpensive. Buy one and don’t worry about adapters. The adapter might cost more than a new USB-C cable.
I'll echo Krupp's suggestion. Unless there's a specific reason to use the Lightning cable instead of the included one, i'd say use the included one. Or a straight USB-C alternative from a good quality brand.
If you need to use your lightning cable because it's longer than the included one, then I would suggest an inexpensive but good quality Ugreen, Anker or Belkin alternative.

Hello josef2016,
I have not tested this myself, but according to Google this can be done. I do not think you will get anything if you try and it doesn’t work.
Sincerely,
Captain
Thank you

You are very welcome. I am delighted to have been able to provide the specific information/clarification that you needed for this Adapter.
The Apple USB-C to Lightning Adapter is often confused as a charging adapter (which it is not) - this confusion not being helped by Apple listing this Adapter within its Accessories "charging essentials" category.
