iPhone alarms not working when set with Siri

iPhone alarms not working.

this has happened a handful of times and recently caused me to be late. When I went to bed I set an alarm with Siri to wake up the next day. Siri spoke back and verified the alarm. The alarm was not registered in the system at all. I was late for my appointment. This does not happen with my iPad at all.

iOS alarms don’t support date-based scheduling.

When you set an alarm for a time like 6 PM, iOS schedules it for the next occurrence of 6 PM, not specifically 6 PM tomorrow. So if you set the alarm at 5 PM, it will ring in one hour. The Alarm feature has no concept of selecting a specific date—only a time.

If your iPad behaved “correctly,” it simply comes down to when the alarm was set. If it was created after that time had already passed for the day, the alarm rolled over to the next day; if not, it triggered the same day.
