Stolen iPhone not showing in Locator

My iPhone was stolen on January 9th at about 16:00 Moscow time. I tried to call the phone number, but the thief turned off the phone. The iPhone is not displayed in the Locator, but why, what should I do?

iPhone 17 Pro, iOS 26

This information doesn't help me. My iPhone is not displayed on the website https://www.icloud.com/find /, I do not know why. So I can't put my iphone in Lost Mode.

If the issue is not just that there is no location, but that your phone is not in your list of devices at all, that would suggest one of two things:

  • You never enabled Find My.
  • You enabled Find My, but were tricked into disclosing your credentials to the criminals, or into removing your phone from your list of devices. With Activation Lock out of the way, they reset your phone and "made your phone their own."

In either case, there would now be no way of setting Lost Mode, tracking the phone via Find My, or turning that feature on (under your Apple ID). While carriers theoretically can track via IMEI, they are unlikely to do so in the case of a lost or stolen phone - IMEI tracking is more for things like missing persons situations where the police have a court order.

You can ask your carrier to blacklist the phone so that it will never again receive cellular service from any carrier who honors the blacklist. But that phone is gone and is never coming back.

It’s seems you didn’t activated send last location, In find my iPhone.lock your phone and leave a message with a friend or family member phone number… Anyway if you know the location where your phone was stolen, and you know the time… check for surveillance cameras in the surrounding area, i hope it will lead you to trace that person with police department … and I suggest you if you can notify all mobile stores in your area and provide them with the phone IMEI number … do not send photo for IMEI … just dictate. I hope you will get back what you lost.🙏
