Can't even log into podcastsconnect to get the support I need to update RSS feed.

I attached my podcast through Podbean to Apple Podcasts. I did it through Podbean, and I never even had to touch Apple Podcasts to do it. I made the mistake of buying another URL and had it forwarded over to Podbean, which then interrupted my feed such that now it won't upload to Apple Podcasts (it's 2 episodes behind, starting from the day I bought that darned URL). So I had the URL forwarded elsewhere and in theory it should have worked to let my podcast upload to Apple. But it still isn't. Podbean told me that I have to contact Apple Podcasts to update my RSS feed, that it was somethign Apple had to do. But none of log in works to get to https://podcastsconnect.apple.com. This makes sense; I never had to log in to Apple Podcast with any email from my Podbean account, and it's not connected to my personal email. So there's no way for me to even contact Apple Support. Podbean says there's nothing they can do. So I'm caught between my podcast provider not being able to do anything while also not being able to log into Apple Connect for podcasts. Anybody got any good advice?

Thanks in advance!

Hey @Caboose Zine -

Have you gone through the process of creating a Podcasters Connect account? The steps are outlined here. Once that’s set up, you should be able to link it to your Podbeans host account.

Doing this should provide you with management functionality for your RSS feeds from the Apple end of the podcastverse. Hopefully you’ll be able to resolve your issue from there.

Cheers.

Hey CZ,

If i understand correctly, you used an established apple id to register for podcasts connect (pcc), but the process seems to have glitched out after you completed step 2. Both the login credentials for your pcc act and the reference code generated to link it to your hosting service appear to be inactive.

Here are some suggestions based on the additional context you provided as well as Rob’s input. Reference attached markup for 1-3.

  1. Do you have 2fa enabled and a valid payment method added?
  2. Rob referenced two separate ToS docs require your (end user) agreement. The Apple Media Services ToS is the first and, as indicated, the easiest to inadvertently overlook. There’s no need to create a new Apple ID, but you do need to make sure that your current Apple ID has completed this acknowledgment step. This is really straightforward to check. As Rob mentioned, thete are numerous paths available (see brackets in markup), but I highly suggest you go through podcasts (that way there’s no need to download a different app). Open your podcasts app or navigate to the podcasts website and log in with your 🍏 id. Review/accept any legal documentation popups encountered (including privacy).
  3. This is where you encounter the second TOS. I’m assuming successful completion of this step was a prerequisite for generating the code you received, but it’s prob timed out by now, so you may neef to go through the motions again to have it send you a new one.
  4. Consider doing a keyword search on your inbox. It’s possible you received an error notification that your email filters mishandled.

Hopefully this helps. Either way, plz follow up and let us know. Good 🍀!

One of the things Apple does not tell you - is that for a new Apple ID - it needs to be fully authorized. That means approving the T's and C's two different times. The second time is the one that is not mentioned. With the new Apple ID - you need to download a free app in the iOS or Mac App Store - that first time you go to download that free app you will get the second set of T's and C's to approve. If you do not have an iOS device or a Mac - then you can download a free song via Apple Music / iTunes on a PC.

Either way you need to approve that second set of T's and C's - once you do that you should be able to access Podcasts connect.

Good Luck

Are you suggesting I need to start a new Apple ID? I already have one where I've tried to connect it to a Podcast Connect account, even going as far as to get a verification code that I pasted into my Podbean settings, that would allow me to add this podcast to my personal account. But are you suggesting I start a new Apple account and try to connect that one to a Podcast Connect account instead? And that I need to download some other free app? What app is that? Thank you!

Hey there!!! Thank you so much for this! I appreciate the time it took you to put that together!! I'm still figuring it out, but here are some developments, because I've made some progress but still have some problems:

-As defaults I do have 2F on my Apple devices and valid forms of payment in Apple for payment for all Apple stuff.

-I was able to claim my show with my own Apple ID with a verification code (took long enough!!) but I didn't get any TOC stuff as emails, especially not that 2nd one. I don't know how to migrate back to getting to it. I tried logging out then logging back in as well as uninstalling the podcast app and reinstalling, hoping that those would lead me to any TOCs but they do not. Logging into Podcast connect does not give me any TOC options either.

-weirdly, for 2 days my 2 past podcasts were up in Apple Podcasts, then they were gone again!

Can't even log into podcastsconnect to get the support I need to update RSS feed.
