Signing in issue - System identifies me as someone else

You can choose your own nickname when you first create an account, as long as it is not one used by someone else or is deemed inappropriate. If you don't make the choice at that time, then one is assigned to you. After that, a nickname can only be changed with the assistance of a Mod and if you want to do that, let me know and I can alert them where they will get in contact with you.

At one time it was possible for a user to change their Nickname after it had been created after first signing up. In a Support Community such as this, there is a certain amount of reputation learned by the Nickname through their other posts and also prevents "trolling" behavior by posting comments and continually changing the Nickname.

The name you see after you login is just a Nickname and should not be your actual Apple ID. There should never be any personal identifiable information posted on this Support Site for your protection. If that happens a Mod will likely redact the information and the Nickname can also be changed if it is inappropriate or contains information that may be a privacy concern.

If your previously used name posted here showed your actual email address, it is quite likely that the moderators changed your ID here to protect your privacy, and prevent a possible influx of spam emails to your address.

I went to your profile and I can see your previous question about your Apple Watch, which proves you are/were not signed in under someone else’s account.

What may have happened is your username was changed by the mods for some reason. I don’t know, I’m just guessing. If they would’ve… they’d’ve sent you an email.

Can you explain what you mean by “it’s posted as if from someone else” and “I again am identified as someone else in the Apple Community”? Thank you.
