Screen failure, black lines on Mac M1 24 inch

Screen failure on Imac M1 24-inch - less than 2 years old and my screen is failing.

Who is keeping the data on the number of screen failures where black lines appear on screens?

Is this a manufacturing/materials issue? Seems like too many people are having this problem.

Is it better to avoid apple products until the fault is recognised and a product recall is announced?

iMac 24″, macOS 15.6

No one here can predict if there is going to be a Service Program on any device. The decision to purchase an Apple Care+ warranty is a personal one where the product would be covered. It exists for a reason as any electronic device is subject to a failure that may not be a manufacturing defect. When you need it, you would be glad you purchased it and if you did not need it, at least you would have the peace of mind. It is also your choice whether you want to continue purchasing Apple products where your decision may not be the same as others and others are not likely to be the same as yours.
