Safari taking a full minute to load after update

I installed the latest update for Mac Sequoia 15.7.3. today 1/11/2026. Safari now takes a full minute to load. I've deleted all history and have no extensions installed. How do I fix this? Also, this site returns a "429 Too Many Questions Asked" when I attempt to submit this.

This site has been under maintenance for the past couple of days where we have all seen the "429 Too Many Questions Asked", and it has nothing to do with the update.

Verify your Safari version is 26.2. There was a separate update for Safari at  > System Settings > General > Software Update. If that does not resolve the problem, then I would recommend to first remove any VPN or Antivirus software and post the free EtreCheck report using the Additional Text option when posting. This will detail processes that may be hanging causing the delay in launching Safari along with third party processes that may be causing a conflict.
