iPhone Calendar/Messages pop-ups reappear after iOS 26.2 update

Since updating to iOS 26.2 on my iPhone 16 Pro Max, I am continually receiving pop-ups for permissions in Calendar and Message. No matter how many times I select an option, the pop-up reappears when I reopen the app. I've gone in to Settings and confirmed my options yet the pop-ups persist.

I restarted my iPhone a couple of times. How do I resolve these annoying pop-ups so they stop reappearing?

The Calendar app was not showing on the list of apps under Settings > Location Services. (?!)

The next time the pop-up "Allow Calendar to use your location" appeared, I selected, "Don't allow."

I went back to Settings > Location Services and the Calendar app appeared on the list. I opened the setting and selected, "Allow while using app." That resolve the issue.

Similarly, when the pop-up appeared in Messages, I selected, "Don't allow," then went to Settings > Focus > Focus Status and turned on "Share Focus Status." That resolved the issue.

In both cases, affirmative permission choices in the pop-up windows didn't register in Settings, but "Don't allow" did, resolving the pop-ups. I had to take the extra steps to go into Settings and manually allow the affirmative permissions.

For the Messages, the pop-up (As shown in the pic posted by you) has nothing to do with Location Services. Share Focus Status needs to be disabled.

On iOS, Share Focus Status applies not just to Do Not Disturb but to all Focus categories you have set up, such as PersonalWorkSleep, or any custom Focus you create. When this option is enabled for a Focus mode, others who send you messages in supported apps (like iMessage) will see a notification that you have notifications silenced. This sharing happens automatically whenever any of your Focus modes is active, so the sender is aware you might not respond immediately.

As soon as you turn off the Focus, the status message that was displayed earlier on the recipient's iPhone will go away. There is no question of a new status appearing unless you have not enabled any of the focus DND.

See the pic below for more clarity. Open Control Center

Also, check if your Mac (or other Apple devices) is set to Do Not Disturb. If it is, your iPhone will also be automatically switched to Do Not Disturb. This is because of the Share Across Devices feature, which syncs Focus modes across all your Apple devices signed in with the same Apple ID. To prevent this synchronization, disable Share Across Devices in your Focus settings, as illustrated in the image below.
