While newer iPhones have some resistance to water, it is really more for light, incidental and accidental exposure. You would be going into a more intense environment with deliberate exposure risk. Devices are not really designed for that.

You might wish to read this support article for what Apple says:

About splash, water, and dust resistance of iPhone 7 and later - Apple Support

says:

To prevent liquid damage, avoid:

  • Swimming or bathing with your iPhone
  • Exposing your iPhone to pressurized water or high velocity water, such as when showering, water skiing, wake boarding, surfing, jet skiing, and so on

If you do wish to take your iPhone with you, see if a scuba dive shop or a boating vendor can recommend a case.

Given your proximity to water, you would be wise to place your iPhone within a good quality waterproof pouch or other housing. Consider finding something suitable at a boat supplies or outdoor goods retailer. Amazon might also be a potential source.

While recent models of iPhone exhibit some water resistance, this should not be relied upon. Seals deteriorate over time - plus any servicing, such as battery replacement, will compromise seals. Device sealing should only be considered as protection from accidental exposure to water; intentional use in and around water increases the potential for damage. Older iPhone models have significantly less protection from water ingress and damage than current models of iPhone.

Also consider that any stated water resistance will be for static pressure. When exposed to flowing water (such as water jets), dynamic pressure will be considerably greater.

Hello~ In my opinion…no. I have taken a close look at some cases that claim that you can use them safely with your iPhone during water activities. I would trust none of them. I have several underwater cameras and housings for scuba diving and I have had those commercial housings fail and flood. I would agree with *Smilin Brian* the GoPro may be much better suited for your water park adventure for videos. You can purchases various inexpensive disposable cameras to take pictures. Have a great time.
