iMovie library version and 66GB storage management on iMac

I have two iMovie files on my iMac. Which is the most recent version of iMovie?

iMovie Library.imovielibrary

iMovie Theater.theater

The iMovie Library.imovielibrary is consuming 66GB of my hard drive space and I'd like to either clean it out or remove it.

Thank you,

They are 2 different things.

iMovie Library.imovielibrary is your iMovie Library. It contains all your iMovie projects and media (clips, photos, songs, etc.) and all your timelines & edits. You can open the iMovie Library, inspect your projects & media and decide what you want to keep or remove from the Library. But if you delete the Library itself, it all goes away.

iMovie Theater.theater is NOT your iMovie Library. It is a feature from an older version of iMovie. Items in the iMovie Theater are movies or trailers you exported/shared to iMovie Theater so you could watch them on your devices through iCloud. It is no longer supported.
