iphone email app not working following 26.2 update

My email app won't connect and download messages to my imap mail account (BTinternet). I can send messages but am not receiving any new messages in the mail app. I've tried deleting and adding the mail account several times, turned my phone off and on, checked password etc and all the settings seem to be entered correctly. This issue seems to have started following the ios 26.2 (23C55) update. My phone is a 15 Pro Max.


Can you help me fix this please?

Thanks - I had (paid for) VPN which I've now had to disable on both my phone and mac as it seems to be incompatible with ios 26.2 :(

I’m not sure if this will help you, but this is what fixed it for me. It seems that when it was loading my messages it would get hung up on an old message. I either deleted that old message or put it in a folder and then the email started syncing again. I had to do that for several messages and now it has worked well for the past couple of weeks.

Mine resolved itself after I began deleting messages that seemed to hang up. For example, I had a message from 2019. I deleted that message and all the email started loading. Next, there was a message from 2022. After deleting that message all seems to be well. I have no idea why and it is completely ridiculous, but here we are.

I'm having the same issue and I don't have a VPN. I've done everything I know to do. I've deleted the account and readded it. I've deleted the mail app and then added it again. I've checked every setting. My mail on my Mac is fine but the mobile mail on my ipad and iphone are not working at all. The strange thing is that my ipad updated and the mail worked fine. It wasn't until the phone updated to 26.2 that the email on both stopped working.

I’m having similar problems with Mail app on my iPhone 15 pro after updating to IOS 26.2.1. Deleted and reloaded accounts, reset network settings, deleted and reloaded apps and called Apple and spent an hour on the phone doing exactly what I had already done, only to be told (1) I’m out of storage (I’m not), (2) it’s a problem connecting to Gmail so I should call Gmail (it isn’t). I reiterated that problem occurred after updating and none of my mail accounts are appearing or behaving as they should. But no help over the phone. I have an appt at the store later this week.
