iPhone overheating after the latest iOS update

Hi. The new IOS update is making my phone run hot. Which it definitely did not do before. Any thoughts? I don’t want it blowing up in my pocket!

My iPhone 17 Pro Max has been getting extremely hot throughout of the day. It’s not giving me the “overheating “ error message error message. But it’ has gotten so hot that I’ve had to take it out of my pocket. Yesterday while I was making a call it got so hot I had take it away from my ear! I contacted Apple Support last week about it. They said as long as it’s not showing the over heat error screen not to be worried. But it’s definitely abnormal!

Hard to separate fact from fiction. Sorry to cast dispersion but there’s a huge difference between extremely hot (please define that exactly), too hot next to my ear, too hot to be in my pocket and no worries it’s normal. Please understand me, I’m not picking sides. But somewhere in the middle would seem the logical situation.

How convenient is an actual Apple Retail location or Authorized Apple Service Provider? I feel an actual hands on inspection may lead to the best resolution of the issue. Your thoughts?
